    Technical Specifications

The GameCube, powered by an IBM-designed 485 MHz CPU and ATI’s “Flipper” GPU, offered impressive graphics for the time period in which it was released.

It marked Nintendo’s shift to optical discs, using 1.46 GB miniDVDs.

As for its design, the GameCube had a square, cube-like design, with ergonomic controllers, memory cards for game saves and had limited online capabilities via a broadband adapter.

The Nintendo Wii, its successor, featured backward compatibility with GameCube games and controllers.

    Game Library

The Nintendo GameCube’s game library included standout titles such as Super Smash Bros. Melee, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, Metroid Prime, and Resident Evil 4.
