Chrono Trigger is a turn-based role-playing game (RPG) which was originally released in 1995 for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES).
Developed by Square (now Square Enix), the game was created by what was often considered a “dream team” of developers, including Hironobu Sakaguchi, the creator of the Final Fantasy series; Yuji Horii, the creator of the Dragon Quest series; and Akira Toriyama, the creator of the Dragon Ball series.
The game’s narrative is centered around Crono, a young hero with spiky red hair, who inadvertently travels through time and embarks on an epic quest to prevent a global catastrophe.
The story unfolds as Crono and his companions, including a rebellious princess, a brave knight, and a quirky robot, traverse different eras. They journey from the prehistoric age, where dinosaurs roam, to a post-apocalyptic future, and even the end of time itself.
It was also updated and re-released on other platforms such as Nintendo DS, mobile devices, PC and platforms such as Steam.
The game also had a sequel, called Chrono Cross, which was released for the Playstation video game console in 1999.
